Zen Desert Sangha is a lay Buddhist meditation group affiliated with the Diamond Sangha. Anyone is welcome to join us for meditation at any of the scheduled times.

Our zendo is located at 3226 N. Martin Avenue in Tucson Arizona -- one-half block north of Fort Lowell Road and one block west of Campbell Avenue.

You are welcome to come to any of the scheduled meditation sessions listed below. (These sits always take place, unless identified as pre-empted by an event in the Upcoming Events calendar.) There is no need to contact us in advance. Please click here for important information about current zendo health protocols.

Monday & Wednesday evenings
6:30-8:00 pm: Zazen
Saturday morning
7:25-8:30 am: Tea ceremony & zazen
8:30-9:00 am: Samu (work practice)
9:00-9:30 am: Sutras (chanting)
9:30-10:30 am: Zazen

These sessions take place at the zendo, 3226 N. Martin Avenue. It is good practice to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled times.

Our practice periods alternate 25 minutes of sitting meditation (zazen) with five minutes of walking meditation (kinhin). Click here for more details about zendo procedures.

We are happy to provide a newcomers with an orientation to Zen practice.
